Art in Harmony 2011 - Jean M. Judd


Textile artist Jean M. Judd of Cushing, Wisconsin has been juried into the Arts in Harmony 2011 International Juried Fine Art exhibition to be held at the Sherburne County Government in Elk River, Minnesota. Her artwork, Contaminated Water #3 (Sludge), is one of the artworks selected for the exhibit. The exhibition will feature 220 artworks selected from 855 entries.


The jurors for the exhibition were Lyndell King, director and chief curator at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota, and Barbara Schultz, developer of Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s (MCAD) current comic art curriculum and MCAD’s Distant Learning comic art courses.


This exhibition is the second largest juried art exhibition in the state of Minnesota and is in its 16th year. The exhibition opens on February 7, 2011. An opening reception and awards presentation with jurors Lyndell King and Barbara Schultz is on February 13, 2011 from 1 to 3:30pm. Over $10,000 in monetary awards will be given to artists.   2. I'm looking forward to the opening reception, Laura. This is the 4th time I've been juried into this art exhibition in the last 5 years. This is the first year that they are also having a monetary award specifically for fiber art so an exciting new possibility.

    It is a great opportunity to meet many collectors as the opening reception is very well attended.
