The Deeply Rooted Exhibition is at its final venue on the two year tour. It will be at the Octagon Center for the Arts through October 28,2017. The reception will be held Saturday, August 26, 3-5pm. The SAQA regional touring exhibit DEEPLY ROOTED showcases the work of
outstanding quilt artists from four Midwest states: Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska,
and Wisconsin.
The exhibit explores what it means
to be deeply rooted. How does our connection to nature, community and
spirituality nourish us? What is our source of strength in good and in challenging
times? The exhibit was juried by international fiber artist Kathyanne White and
is comprised of 30 contemporary art quilts encompassing a broad range of styles
and techniques.
The exhibit is co-curated by SAQA Members: Karin Gundlach, IA, Rebecca
Kemble, IA Cynthia Levis, NE, Cynthia Wenslow, IL and Pat Kroth, WI.
